– Buddha Dordema the name has been derived from Bodgaya, where he got enlightenment.
– The construction of Buddha Statue was prophesied by Guru Padmasambhava. It was also prophesied by Lam Sonam Zangpo (1888-1982), that a large statue of either Guru Padmasambhava, Buddha or of a (Vajrakilaya) phurba would be built in the region to bestow blessings, peace and happiness in the word.
– The work has been initiated by Lam Tshering Wandi with a Singaporean business man called Pita T.
– His Holiness the 70th Jekhenpo consecrated the statue in dedication to the 60th birth anniversary celebration of His Majesty the Fourth King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck
– The statue was completed in 2015. His Holiness the 70th Jekhenpo consecrated the statue in dedication to the 60th birth anniversary celebration of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
– It was officially opened for public in coinciding with our fourth king Jigme Singay Wangchuk 60th birthday on September 25th 2015.
– The height of Buddha Dordenma is 169 feet and 51.5 meters and the cost is over 100 million US dollar and they are made from up of gold, bronze and copper.
– On the forehead there is diamond of the worth 1 million US dollar and It was made in Hong Kong that weighs about 10 kg. It is used as the third eye which is called as the wisdom eye of Buddha.
– Funded by sponsors from Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.
– Around in the statue you will see a duskiness offering eight auspicious substance, peaceful offering and eight lucky sign.

– This place is called as Kuensel Phodrang and it’s was the palace or this place is own by the 13th Druk Desi Sherab Wangchuck.
– It is built in 2006 and it was long time prophesied by the Guru Rinpoche and later by Terton Pema Lingpa prophesied to build the Buddha or Guru or Varja in any place in Bhutan so that peace and happiness will prevail forever.

9. Do remember to keep your mobile silent mode or switched off completely while entering monasteries and other religious places.
10. Do refrain from uttering any negative comments on the royal family, the country’s religion or the chief abbot.
11. Do not wear tight or revealing clothes while visiting religious areas as a sign of respect.
12. Do not throw garbage anywhere except at designated places.
13. Do not feed birds/ animals while visiting natural sites.

Inside Buddha Statue
On the entrance of the Buddha Dodrama statue we will see a God of Wealth which is known as Zambha lha.There is a 12 deeds of Buddha, painting of tshe la nam sum, Buddha, Rigsum Gyampo, wisdom Buddha, teaching of Buddha and the guru mandala, medicine mandala.
– Namper Nangzey/ Varotsana/ varochana fulfilling the grant wish of all the sentient beings for everlasting happiness and enlightenment.
– The interior will accommodate 100000(8inch tall) and 25000(12-inch-tall) Buddha respectively names of sponsors will be display in meditation hall which forms the throne of the Buddha Dordenma
Ground Floor : Statue of Buddha Shakyamuni with two disciple.

– The Peling festival was held here for the first time (2nd May- 4th May 2016)
